Important Notice
Attention all bidders: Until further notice, all bid openings will be conducted electronically via email. Anyone who wishes to be present for a bid opening via email will need to provide their email address to shpurchasing@sterling-heights.net. We will email bid openings as they occur.
Notice to all bidders: Until further notice, please submit all bids electronically at shpurchasing@sterling-heights.net or www.mitn.info. Bids will continue to be accepted and bid due deadlines will apply. When a bid bond is required, include a scanned copy of the certified cashier's check or the bid bond via surety.

Purchasing Methods
The use of several different purchasing methods allows for the purchase of goods and services at the lowest competitive price. Examples include: online requisitioning, cooperative purchasing, quantity purchases, Requests for Proposals, purchasing cards and an on-line e-procurement program that allows registered vendors instant access to bids and quotes. Having these alternatives available allows for a more expedient method of procuring goods and services.
Surplus Items
Surplus items such as vehicles, furniture, computer equipment, police related items, etc. are disposed of through the Michigan Intergovernmental Trade Network (MITN) auction website. The issues involving ethical standards of purchasing are continually monitored to maintain the highest level of standards. These issues include establishing policies and procedures, preparing specifications, and the testing and inspecting of materials and supplies purchased by and for the City.
