The Human Resources function of the City Management Department is responsible for talent management and acquisition, risk management, employee and retiree benefit administration, employee wellness, equal opportunity and compliance reporting, and employee education and development.
Attracting and retaining exceptional talent while developing employees through education is a primary focus while determining staffing levels for full-time, part-time, seasonal employees, and contractual services. Human Resources is also heavily involved in labor negotiations which are conducted within 11 different bargaining units representing over 99% of the City's workforce.
Human Resources ensures the City meets all equal employment requirements by monitoring all areas of employment practices and completing annual state and federal reporting requirements.
