[ARCHIVED] Sterling Heights Area Community Foundation to Hold 2023 Annual Meeting on April 9

The Sterling Heights Area Community Foundation is holding its 2023 Annual Meeting on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at noon at the Sterling Heights Community Center.

The Foundation will present grants to the city of Sterling Heights for its annual Sterlingfest Art & Music Festival, Library’s Summer Reading Program, Sterling Heights Community Center, the new Sterling Heights Disc Golf Course, Music in the Park, Farmers Market, Youth Baseball and Softball, Youth Basketball, the Dodge Park Ice Rink, annual Scholarship Program and a new GRIT Freedom Chair for use by the Sterling Heights Parks and Recreation Department to enable individuals who need physical assistance enjoy the Parks and their many trails.  Grants will also be presented to the Sterling Heights Drug Free Coalition, the Utica Community Schools Career Focus Program, the Macomb Science Olympiad, the Play Place for Autistic Children in Sterling Heights and other area programs.

The Community at large is invited to join city, county and other guests at this annual meeting.

During this one-hour meeting, the Foundation leaders will highlight key accomplishments, review financial status, share growth plans and present grants to many community functions and activities that support its mission to help improve the quality of life of Sterling Heights area residents through cultural, educational and recreational enhancements and opportunities. Grant awardees will share their use of Foundation grants. Endowment partners present will discuss plans for their earnings.

Oskoian. “We have grown the Foundation consistently since its inception in 1991, recently passing significant financial and strategic goals. We continue to focus on to growing the Foundation asset base to increase annual income for distribution to the community supporting our mission areas. We are continually focused on sustainable financial growth and expanding service to the community, in perpetuity.”
