Building Closures

The Sterling Heights Public Library will be closed on Monday, Jan. 19, in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Upton House

Connect with Sterling Heights' past with photos, displays and more at the Upton House Museum. Tours will be available on Wednesdays from 1-4 p.m. No registration required.

Grab some good reads and get cozy to work on this year's Winter Reading Challenge! All finishers will earn a prize. Grab a sheet and information at the Youth Services desk. 

Spice of the Month Club

Looking to spice up your cooking? Sign up for our Spice of the Month Club and get inspired to try new flavors. Participants will receive a different kit each month containing a sample of the spice along with some fun facts and a recipe to make at home. Pickup begins on the dates listed below and continues for one week (while supplies last).

Pottery Class: Make a Soup Mug

Monday, Jan. 12 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Register online.

Get your hands dirty and your creativity flowing in this fun, two-hour pottery class led by local artist Jan Bostwick. Learn the basics of hand-building as you shape and design your very own soup mug-- perfect for the winter months! After the class, your piece will be kiln-fired and ready for pickup once it's finished. No experience needed-- just bring your imagination!

Anime Club

Zine Workshop

Participants are invited to make ae mini-zine (self-created book/magazine) on whatever topic or theme the creator wants. They can take home their zine or add it to a display for fellow patrons to read.

Tweening: A Parent and Tween Night Out

Monday, Jan. 26 from 6-7 p.m. Register online.

Come out to the library for a night full of fun crafts for both tweens and their adults to complete! Each month will featuer an exciting new craft and different theme. Please only register the child's name, to be accompanied by one grown-up. No younger siblings please.

Teen Community Service Project

Looking to earn volunteer hours and make a difference? Join our monthly Teen Community Service Project. Each month features a new way to give back. Projects and dates vary, so check our calendar or stop by the Youth Services Desk for details. Open to teens ages 13-18. All supplies provided. Tabletop RPG - Youth Session

Join us for a night of role-playing fun. Choose your own character, roll the dice, and embark on an unforgettable journey! We provide the story, and some pizza! This session is for ages 9-15.

Storytime Yoga

Bring stories to life with Storytime Yoga! Children will move, stretch, and imagine as original stories are paired with simple yoga poses and themed crafts. This fun and engaging program builds literacy, creativity, and mindfulness. Yoga mats are provided.

Tea Party

Ready for an amazing tea party? Join us for some tea (juice) and treats, accompanied by stories! Wear your craziest hats, and dress your best! Superhero costumes, princess dresses, and all outfits are welcome!

Tech Time

Kids will be introduced to various technology concepts from coding to Snap Circuits. All materials will be provided!
