[ARCHIVED] Cemetery Walk

Cemetery

On Saturday, Oct. 19, ages 13 and up can step back in time for a haunting visit to Sterling Grove Cemetery, one of the area’s oldest, yet simplest cemeteries. Hear about the 19th century community of Sterling Township pioneers who now reside in this quaint final resting place. A guided walking tour includes a brief history of the cemetery, its features, and a glimpse at the lives of some of those long-gone early settlers. The tour lasts approximately 90 minutes. When this special outing concludes, return to the library for donuts and cider!

Buses will depart from the library for three tours starting at 2 p.m., 4 p.m., and 6 p.m. Please dress for the weather and wear suitable shoes for walking and standing. There are no seats or restrooms at the site. Furthermore, 6 p.m. tour attendees should bring a flashlight.

Registration is required and must be done through Sterling Heights Parks & Recreation. Call (586) 446-2700 to register. Registration costs $5 per person.
