On Thursday, September 26, HTI Cybernetics hosted a ribbon cutting for its new 189,000 square foot facility at 40033 Mitchell Drive in Sterling Heights, adding to the existing robust manufacturing economy housed within the borders of the City.
HTI Cybernetics leadership, Sterling Heights elected officials and leadership and Sterling Heights Regional Chamber of Commerce leadership were all on hand to celebrate the grand opening of the new facility which represents a more than $15 million investment and 50 new jobs within Sterling Heights.
The facility will serve as HTI’s corporate headquarters as well as provide a significant footprint for research and development and advanced manufacturing activities. The company’s objectives for the new facility include increased operational efficiency, resource optimization, infrastructure management, increased program capacities and enhanced experience for their customers.
“Our new headquarters will allow HTI to build on our existing foundation of proven expertise, advanced technology, and customer commitment, as well as provide the ability to take on larger projects due to our increased capacity,” said Eric McAlexander, HTI Cybernetics CEO. “The entire HTI team will be consolidated under one roof by the end of the year, creating operational efficiency and future growth opportunities. Sterling Heights is the hub of manufacturing, and as 2019's Advanced Manufacturer of the Year we are proud we've called this city home for more than 20 years. We look forward to continuing our relationship for many years to come.”
HTI’s new location is part of the Sterling Innovation District, the City’s industrial corridor spanning six square miles and home to millions of square feet of industrial and high tech space. Billions of dollars in new high tech manufacturing investments have been, and continue to be, made throughout the Sterling Innovation District over the past several years.
