Eight Michigan-based companies will have the chance to pitch their businesses and receive financial assistance at the Macomb PITCH for small business competition that will take place 5-8 p.m. Oct. 8 at the Macomb-OU INCubator at Velocity Collaboration Center, 6633 18 Mile Road, Sterling Heights.
The companies -- all high-growth Michigan based technology companies with less than or equal to $2.5 million in revenue and three years in business -- were chosen from the nearly 40 that applied.
The finalists are DetectIR Technologies, Inc., Flipsi, LTd, FoodJunky, GolfCliks, LLC, KTISIS, LLC, SteriDev, LLC, Transition Coordination Services, LLC and VizBe.
Company representatives will have five minutes to deliver their pitch followed by a 5-minute question and answer session with the judges. Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place. First place receives $7,000 along with seven and a half hours of consultation with the law firm Butzel Long, and the MACOU INC service package, which is access to the services the Mac-OU INCubator provides for a year.

The second-place finisher will receive $2,000, a one-year lease on a MAC-OU cubicle and five hours of consultation with Butzel Long. Third place receives $1,000, a six-month lease on MAC-OU cubicle and five hours of consultation with Butzel Long.
