TD Industrial Coverings, Inc. (TDIC) and its leadership are excited to announce the coming together of two Metro Detroit institutions.

As of Wednesday, March 25, 2020 TDIC, a nearly 40-year-old second-generation family business, has pivoted its core competency from protective automotive robot covers to provide medical Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to one of the nation’s premier medical providers, Henry Ford Health System. TDIC is working with Henry Ford to ensure its staff have access to essential and locally made PPE ensuring both the safety of Henry Ford employees, and patients alike.  Products produced by TDIC, including isolation gowns and medical masks, are available immediately for use by Henry Ford Health System Employees. Having a local provider of these PPE items limits the liability of supply chain disruptions and is critical to our state’s ongoing fight against COVID-19. TDIC is proud to aid healthcare workers on the front lines of this effort.

Positive Customer Impact

In a matter of a week, TDIC has already managed to make multiple deliveries to various local area Henry Ford Health System hospitals. These shipments have allowed the hospitals that are hardest hit by the COVID-19 pandemic to receive the essential PPE in the most expeditious manner possible. TDIC has also worked with Henry Ford Health System to utilize TDIC’s industry-leading design and production capabilities to develop the most comfortable and effective designs in a short timeframe.

“We are impressed with TDIC’s rapid deployment, and grateful to all of their employees who are supporting us during this critical time,” said Lisa Prasad, managing director of Henry Ford Innovations.

“We are proud TDIC is leveraging their expertise at this most critical time of need,” said Sterling Heights Mayor Michael Taylor. “TDIC has been a long-standing committed community partner in Sterling Heights, and we are fortunate they are stepping up to the plate. Our area is well positioned to face this crisis head on due to the advanced manufacturing and highly skilled workforce we possess in Sterling Heights. This is a fine example of our local manufacturers’ agility and ability to shift on a dime to meet demand.”

Product Availability

TDIC has committed all production capability in both of its Sterling Heights facilities to the Henry Ford Health System and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future. TDIC will continue to seek out additional sources of production as well as other sources of PPE to be made available to other medical companies on a first-come-first-serve basis allowing TDIC to help as many medical providers as possible. TDIC will continue to utilize its custom design capabilities and quick turnaround times to provide any, and all, help possible in the ongoing fight against COVID-19.
