[ARCHIVED] Library Services

Sterling Heights Public Library

While the library is now open during its normal hours of operation, COVID-19 and the ongoing building renovations have dramatically impacted what services the library can offer.

Construction Phase 1 Services

The library is currently in the first—and largest—phase of the renovations. Close to three-quarters of the building is under construction. Given the little usable space and the need to social distance, the library can only allow patrons with facemaks to enter the building for limited technology use during this phase.

One person at a time may use our copier and scanner/fax station on a first-come, first-served basis. Patrons may also set up 1-hour appointments to use our public computers. To create an appointment, call the library at (586) 446-2665 or register through our online calendar.

Patrons may still place holds and check out books through our curbside pickup service.

Construction Phase 1 is expected to end sometime this fall.

Construction Phase 2 Services

The remaining quarter of the building will be worked on during the second—and final—phase. Since the library will have more usable space during this phase, we may allow patrons to enter the building and browse our collection. The final decision will depend on how COVID-19 progresses. The Used, But Sterling Bookstore may reopen during Construction Phase 2 as well.

Construction Phase 2 is expected to end in early 2021.
