[ARCHIVED] Historical Commission Gravestone Cleaning Program Offered at the Sterling Heights Public Library

Have you always wanted to give back to your community but don’t know where to start? This great opportunity will not only teach you how to properly clean gravestones, but you’ll be able to learn more about our community and honor those who have come before us.

The Sterling Heights Historical Commission is partnering with the Sterling Heights Public Library for a Gravestone Cleaning program at Sterling Grove Cemetery on June 17th, 2023. The program runs from 10am to 12pm.

This workshop will provide participants with hands-on instruction in the proper cleaning of historic monuments and gravestones, as well as history of the cemetery. Supplies will be provided. Participants should meet at the cemetery and should bring a portable chair as there is no seating at the site.

Space is limited to 15 participants, registration required. For more information, please call 586-446-2640 or visit
