The City of Sterling Heights is encouraging those planning to attend this year’s Memorial Day Parade to park in designated lots near this year’s shortened route. Attendees and non-parade vehicles can park at any of the following locations:
• Any neighborhood street adjacent to the parade route
• Senior Center Parking Lot, 40200 Utica Rd.
• 41A District Court Parking Lot, 40111 Dodge Park Rd.
• City Hall East Parking Lot, 40555 Utica Rd. (limited)
• Stevenson High School, 39701 Dodge Park Rd.
Given the shortened parade and limited parking due to construction, only vehicles participating in the actual Memorial Day Parade will be allowed to enter Dodge Park and the City’s West Parking lot the morning of Monday, May 30. A representative from the City will be checking vehicles as they enter.
Dodge Park and Utica Roads near the parade route will close to traffic beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, May 30. Those wishing to park in the lots listed above should arrive prior to this time. Sterling Heights Police would also like to remind parade goers that parking along Utica Road is not permitted at anytime.
The time and location of the annual Memorial Day Ceremony will remain the same as in years prior (9 a.m. at Sterling Heights City Hall, 40555 Utica Rd.) The Parade will kick off at 10 a.m. out of Dodge Park, heading south.
Any questions, please contact Community Relations at (586) 446-2470. City Hall will be closed on Friday, May 27 for an in-service day.
