Nominations for the Beautification Commission’s annual Beautification Awards program, which honors property owners who go above and beyond in terms of landscaping, are now being accepted until Friday, August 19.

Photographs of the front of nominated properties can be e-mailed to cityhall@sterling-heights.net or mailed to: Community Relations, P.O. Box 8009, 40555 Utica Road, Sterling Heights, MI 48311-8009, attn: Beautification Awards.

Homes are juried on the “wow” factor for use of color in planting perennials and annuals. Awards are presented in the following categories: single family homes, multiple family complexes, churches, schools and businesses. The Beautification Commission will judge the entries and present Beautification Awards to the winners during a City Council meeting in October.
