The Sterling Heights Community Foundation is proud to announce the return of its annual gala “Puttin’ on the Ritz.", on Friday, October 28, 2016, at Villa Penna in Sterling Heights.
This year's Ritz gala is honoring Barbara W. Rossmann, President and CEO, Henry Ford Macomb Hospitals, as she receives the second annual Richard J. Notte Civic Service Leadership Award, for all she has done to help strengthen Macomb County by building and operating an extensive world class health care provider and for the leadership she provides to nearly one dozen community civic organizations throughout Southeastern Michigan. Proceeds from this event will benefit the Sterling Heights Community Foundation with a portion dedicated to the establishment of a charitable endowment of Barbara Rossmann’s choice in her name.
“Puttin’ on the Ritz" is a black-tie optional event with that will feature a sit-down dinner, premium bar, live contemporary music by Nightline a wonderful selection of auction items and more. Honorary Co-Chairs are Mark A. Hackel, Macomb County Executive, and Michael C. Taylor, Mayor of the City of Sterling Heights. Event Co-Chairs are Michael Felix, Sterling Axle Plant Manager, Ford Motor Company; Dr. Martin J. Brown, President, Macomb Chiropractic Centers; and Karl G. Oskoian, Executive Director, Sterling Heights Community Foundation.
"The Sterling Heights Community Foundation was established in 1991 to improve the cultural, educational and recreational opportunities for residents of Michigan's third largest city," said Karl G. Oskoian, the Foundation’s executive director. "Our annual Ritz event was established in 2013 to recognize extraordinary community leaders. Proceeds from this annual signature event are used by the Foundation to strengthen the quality of life of area residents."
The first Ritz event in November 2013 honored Mayor Richard J. Notte for his twenty years of mayoral service and raised funds to support the Richard J. Notte Public Service Scholarship Endowment. The 2014 Ritz event honored the men and women of Macomb's defense industry, the county's military veterans, and established an endowment fund to ensure an ongoing Veteran's Day Ceremony in the City. The 2015 Ritz event honored Mark A. Hackel with theinaugural Richard J. Notte Civic Service Leadership Award for all he has done to strengthen Macomb County and established an endowment fund, in his name, for the Macomb Junior Leadership Program.Puttin on the Ritz Sponsorship opportunities for this year's event honoring Barbara Rossmann are now available.
