Work on the Clinton River Restoration project is steadily progressing upstream from Hayes Road.
The Contractor has reached Edison Court and over the next 4 months will be working along the river adjacent to the multi-use trail from Edison Court to the City of Utica. The contractor will be moving heavy equipment and material along the path system. During this time sections of the path, if necessary, will be closed in order to keep everyone safe.
Starting 8/11/16 the path system (multi-use trail and mountain bike) will be closed from Edison Court (Emergency Marker - 1) to south of the Dodge Park bridge (Emergency Marker - 15). Shown on the attached map is the location of path closure and signs posted. We estimate the work in this section will take approximately 4 weeks.
We understand the trail system is heavily used by the public and during this closure period the trail heading northwest, between the Dodge Park bridge and City of Utica will remain open. Access to this section of the trail can be obtained from Dodge Park, Farmstead Park, Sterling Heights Nature Center, Jaycees Park, and Clinton River North Park.
We ask that you not use this section of path and obey the signs posted as the conditions through this section may not be safe with the contractor moving equipment and material to job locations. We are sorry for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience and cooperation while we work to improve the Clinton River.
