[ARCHIVED] City announces Labor Day office closure

Municipal offices in Sterling Heights will be closed Friday, September 2 for an employee furlough day and on Monday, September 5 in observance of the Labor Day holiday.

Municipal offices in Sterling Heights will be closed Friday, September 2 for an employee furlough day and on Monday, September 5 in observance of the Labor Day holiday. City offices include City Hall, Public Library, Nature Center, Recreation Center and the Senior Activity Center. The 41-A District Court will remain open on September 2 but will be closed for the holiday on September 5.

Police and fire emergency services are not affected by the weekend closures. All municipal offices will reopen Tuesday, September 6.

As a result of the holiday, there will be no refuse collection on Monday, September 5. Refuse, Yard Waste and Curbside Recycling collections will be delayed one day during the week of September 5-9.
