Key Safety Systems, Inc., a manufacturer of advanced engineered safety products for global automotive and non-automotive markets, which is headquartered in Sterling Heights, plans an expansion that will bring 50 new positions to the company.
This addition will generate a total investment of $1.5 million, which will result in a $200,000 Michigan Business Development Program performance-based grant. This expansion comes just after KSS celebrates their 100-year corporate anniversary.
“Sterling Heights has been home to Key Safety Systems for 40 years, and they continue to be one of the City’s best kept secrets. We couldn’t be happier that they are continuing to invest in their headquarters location right here in Sterling Heights,” said Sterling Heights Mayor Michael Taylor.
KSS worked with the city of Sterling Heights to create a video that will help to recruit talent and people to these new jobs. Sterling Heights will also assist KSS in hosting a talent mixer for those who are interested in applying for these jobs with KSS. The talent mixer will be an opportunity for those who are interested in these openings to meet with KSS employees to learn more about the company and jobs available. The talent mixer will be on Thursday, December 8th, 2016.
"Macomb County welcomes this important expansion project and the new jobs it will bring," said County Executive Mark A. Hackel. "This project is another prime example of how Macomb County can meet the emerging needs of industry. From facilities to workforce, our economic development team is available to work with private sector partners and develop prosperous growth strategies."
