NOTICE OF PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD FOR PROPOSED PARKS, RECREATION, AND NON-MOTORIZED MASTER PLAN
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at 7:30 p.m., the City Council for the City of Sterling Heights will convene in the Council Chambers located at 40555 Utica Road, Sterling Heights, Michigan 48313 to consider the proposed 2017 – 2021 Parks, Recreation, and Non-Motorized Master Plan (Master Plan).
NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that the Master Plan is a planning tool to guide the development of recreational facilities and locations over the next five (5) years. The Master Plan is required to be reviewed and revised every five (5) years. The Master Plan identifies short and long term recreation needs, develops policies and programs to address those needs, and identifies possible funding sources. An approved Master Plan is required to gain eligibility in order to apply for Natural Resource Trust Fund grants through the State of Michigan.

NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that public comments on the Master Plan will be received during the month of November, 2016. Those persons interested in submitting public comment can note their feedback on the blank pages at the back of the hard copies located at the Recreation Center and Library, mail or deliver them to the Parks and Recreation Department, Attn: Master Plan, 40620 Utica Road, Sterling Heights, MI 48313, or submit by email at recreation@sterling-heights.net.
