[ARCHIVED] SHRED Day scheduled for April 1 to help protect privacy

Shred Legal will be at the Department of Public Works (DPW) on Saturday, April 1, 2017 from 8 am until 2 pm to shred documents at no charge.

Shredding will be conducted on site for complete security and the shredded materials will be recycled. This event will be free to residents because Shred Legal will be donating their time and trucks as a community service.

In order to allow as many residents as possible to participate, a limit of three paper size boxes (15"L x 12"D x 10"H) will be shredded per person. This event is for the residents -- not the business community. Those residents that wish to observe the shredding of their documents can pull their vehicle to the side and view the shredding through the monitors mounted inside the shred vehicles.

What should be shredded?
• Any document that contains confidential material
• Any document that could be used for the purpose of identity theft
• Any document that could cause harm in the hands of criminals

Acceptable:
• White ledger paper
• Manila folders
• Envelopes with or without windows
• Hanging file folders

Not Acceptable:
• Newspaper
• Cardboard
• CDs/DVDs/VHS tapes
• Books/magazines
