BJ’s Restaurants, Inc., a California corporation, will open its first BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse restaurant in Michigan in Sterling Heights later this year
At its April 18 regular meeting, the Sterling Heights City Council approved a Class C liquor license and other necessary permits for the restaurant development to move forward. The restaurant is a planned redevelopment at 14455 Lakeside Circle, replacing the vacant Linens N’ Things retail store on the north side of Lakeside Mall. BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse is planned to be approximately 7,600 square foot restaurant set to go on a 3.4-acre site, following the demolition of the existing building.
BJ’s Restaurants, Inc. currently owns and operates more than 180 restaurants in 20 states and focuses on diversified menus including deep-dish pizza, salads, sandwiches, pastas, craft beer and Pizookies, a signature type of dessert. The restaurants are known for unique, contemporary decor, premium casual experiences for diners. This will be BJ’s Restaurants, Inc. first Michigan location.
Mayor Michael C. Taylor said he welcomes BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse to Sterling Heights and is looking forward to visiting when it opens later this year.

Sterling Heights City Manager Mark Vanderpool said BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse fits well within the City’s vision for the redevelopment of Lakeside and he welcomes similar businesses to look at Sterling Heights as a place to consider.
