Sterlingfest Art & Music Fair, Sterling Heights’ well-loved summer festival, features a new connection this year from the Main Stage concert viewing area to the Suds N’ Sounds tent concert area.
City staff coordinating the event said this change offers attendees the opportunity to safely move from one concert area of the festival to another without having to cross through other high traffic areas. The newly enclosed Main Stage space also allows for beverage consumption throughout the concert viewing space. Sterling Heights Police Department is planning to have extra officers patrol the Main Stage lawn to ensure a safe experience for all.
Community Relations Director Bridget Kozlowski said Sterlingfest attendees for years have been asking for amore direct route to see concerts at both stages. Additionally, Kozlowski said, this allows for those who purchase beverages in both the Suds N’ Sounds tent or Main Stage area to easily move from one venue to another without interruption.
“We know some of our regular Sterlingfest attendees enjoy listening to music at both stages, and we want to be sure their experience is as seamless as possible,” said Mayor Michael C. Taylor. “We hope this makes for a more relaxed and enjoyable concert experiencefor all!”
