The Sterling Heights Police Department will be hosting its annual National Night Out event from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm on Tuesday, August 8, 2017.
The event will take place in the Sterling Heights Police Department parking lot at 40333 Dodge Park Road. National Night Out is an annual, nationally recognized event, where the police department engages with the community to promote police-community partnerships.
National Night Out has traditionally been about crime and drug prevention. The event is held locally in every city, town, and village across the county. This year’s free event will feature food, games, prizes, face painting, and bounce houses. There will be free bike helmets (while supplies last) for children. Magician Jim Carmody will do a magic show. The United Shore Professional Baseball League Mascot and Chuck E Cheese will also be on-hand.
National Night Out provides the opportunity for the community to come out to obtain information and see a variety of displays. Booths will be set up and information will be provided by the Sterling Height Police Special Response Team, Sterling Height Fire Department, Macomb County Sheriff Marine Division, Universal Ambulance, LEEP Child Identification, Citizens Emergency Response Team, Citizens on Patrol, Family Against Narcotics, and many more.
National Night Out has a mission to strengthen the bond between police and the community. That bond will send the message to the criminals that we are fighting together against crime and keeping our community safe. Please come out and participate in the event that will help keep Sterling Heights safe.
