The City of Sterling Heights will be hosting its first-ever “Volunteer Fair” this fall in an effort to grow its existing volunteer organizations and provide a venue for other local volunteer groups to meet interested volunteers.
The Volunteer Fair will be held 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 19 at the Senior Center, 40200 Utica Road. At the fair, residents of all ages can walk from table to table and meet representatives from volunteer organizations around Sterling Heights. It’s an excellent opportunity for all, from high school students seeking volunteer hours to retired residents looking to get involved – and anyone in between
At the Fair, there will be many volunteer opportunities for residents to learn about, including both City and community-sponsored organizations. Some of the organizations that will be present include the Friends of the Library, the Historical Commission, Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), Citizens on Patrol (COPS), Sterling Heights Initiative for Neighborhood Excellence (SHINE) and more.
Volunteer groups based in Sterling Heights that would like to be considered for a space at the fair should contact Community Relations Director Bridget Kozlowski at (586) 446-2471 or bkoz@sterling-heights.net. Space is limited.
