[ARCHIVED] Shooting at Sterling Heights House Party

On April 22, at approximately 1:00 AM, the Sterling Heights Police received a 911 call of shots fired in the 12000 block of Corvair Dr.

Upon arrival to the residence, it was found that a 15-year-old male was shot.  Three suspects that were involved fled prior to Sterling Heights Police arriving on scene.  In the preliminary investigation it was found that there was a house party at the residence and the suspects were not allowed entry.  After an argument ensued and the group was not allowed entry into the party, a suspect fired a handgun into the home striking one person.  The suspects then fled the area; the victim was transported to the Henry Ford Hospital in Clinton Township, where he remains in stable condition.

On the evening of April 22, two of the three suspects were apprehended by the Sterling Heights Police Department’s Investigation Bureau.  One suspect is a 17-year-old male by the name of Timothy Deveal Johnson who is a resident of Roseville, and the second suspect is a 15-year-old juvenile.  The investigation is still ongoing, as Officers attempt to locate the third suspect in this incident.

Johnson was arraigned on the charges of Felonious Assault and Felony Firearm with a bond set at $100,000 / 10 %, and if released must wear a tether.

The Macomb County Prosecutors Office authorized on the warrant and wished to provide the following statement to the media:

Macomb County Prosecutor Eric Smith stated:

“After being asked to leave a birthday party, this group of young men resorted to senseless gun violence.  This behavior will not be tolerated and met with the full weight of my office.”
