[ARCHIVED] Shooting In Sterling Heights, Suspect In Custody

On August 18th, 2018 at 11:15 pm, there was a 911 call of someone shooting inside the business of 42555 Merrill Rd. (SAS Automotive).

Upon the arrival of the Sterling Heights Police Department, it was found that the lone suspect had fled the area.  No one was injured as a result of the shooting.  

   The suspect was an employee with the company who returned off duty to the business.  Upon doing so, the employee and the supervisor began to argue.  The suspect then went to his vehicle and retrieved a handgun.  The suspect began to chase the supervisor and one round was fired at the supervisor.  The suspect then fled to Detroit where he was later taken into custody by the Detroit Police Department. The suspect was turned over to the Sterling Heights Police Department, and will be arraigned early in the week.  The suspect’s identification will be released upon his arraignment.

This suspect was arraigned on 08/20/18, and his name is as follows:

Wilshawn Antwaun Talley-Ellis, B/M, who is 37 years of age, resides in the city of Detroit.  Talley-Ellis was charged with Assault with the intent to murder, and felon in possession of a firearm.  Bond set at $100,000 cash or surety, if released a tether is required, and no contact with the victim.         Please see the attached booking photo.
