The City of Sterling Heights will be hosting its annual “Volunteer Fair” next month in an effort to grow its existing volunteer organizations and provide a venue for other local volunteer groups to meet interested volunteers and network with one another.
The Volunteer Fair will be held 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, November 14th at the Senior Center, 40200 Utica Road. At the fair, residents of all ages can walk from table to table and meet representatives from volunteer organizations around Sterling Heights. It’s an excellent opportunity for all, from high school students seeking volunteer hours to retired residents looking to get involved – and anyone in between
At the Fair, there will be many volunteer opportunities for residents to learn about, including both City and community-sponsored organizations. Some of the organizations that will be present include the Friends of the Library, the Historical Commission, Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), Citizens Patrol, Sterling Heights Initiative for Neighborhood Excellence (SHINE) and more.
Volunteer groups based in Sterling Heights that would like to be considered for a space at the fair should contact Community Relations at (586) 446-2473 or sgiallombardo@sterling-heights.net. Space is limited.
