The City of Sterling Heights is excited to welcome the latest project to the Sterling Enterprise Park, developed by JB Donaldson of Farmington Hills, MI.
HTI Cybernetics, Inc. provides automated and robotic welding systems, assembly solutions and operator ergonomic devices. The company is experiencing continued growth and plans to expand its manufacturing operations at its facility in the City of Sterling Heights, a project that is expected to generate total private investment of $20.6 million and create 100 jobs, in a new 189,000 square foot manufacturing headquarters.
Sterling Heights was chosen over competing sites in Mexico and Canada. Sterling Heights Mayor Michael Taylor stated, “I am very excited that HTI Cybernetics will continue to call Sterling Heights home. HTI has been in our City for decades, expanding and hiring new employees on many occasions, and we have always been there to partner with them each time. HTI’s major investment in this state of the art manufacturing headquarters further validates that Sterling Heights is a destination place for high tech manufacturing”. Over the pasttwenty years, the City of Sterling Heights has supported HTI's growth with real and personal property tax abatements, as well as a Tool and Die Recovery Zone, the only one approved within the city limits. Both of these incentives have assisted HTI's growth and continued investment.
“HTI is committed to the success of our business, and as part of this commitment I am pleased to announce our largest ever building acquisition that will allow us to support future expansion. With this being a brand new building, we are designing the space to improve our organizational efficiency, create a more collaborative environment between cross-functional teams, and optimize the customer experience. This is yet another great milestone in HTI’s history and will be one that has an impact for many years into the future as we continue to call Sterling Heights our home.” said Joe Keppler, Vice President and CFO, HTI Cybernetics.
