[ARCHIVED] City to host a Welcoming Discussion Panel in an effort to better connect, communicate with residents

The City of Sterling Heights will be hosting a "City Hall Welcomes All" discussion panel in an effort to better connect and communicate with residents.

The event is designed for immigrants, refugees and other residents that would like to learn more about the resources that are available to them; and will be held at the Velocity Collaboration Center, 6633 18 Mile Road in Sterling Heights, from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, February 7, 2019.
At the forum, residents will learn City basics from leaders in the City’s Police, Fire, City Development, Court and Library departments and be able to ask any questions they may have at the end of the presentations.
“We work hard to make sure our services and programs are open and accessible to all residents via City Hall and our website, but some new residents may be first-time homebuyers or unfamiliar with what Sterling Heights has to offer,” Community Relations Director Bridget Kozlowski said. “This is a chance for the City to make face-to-face contact with residents, present and explain the various City departments and answer any questions they may have. It’s an excellent opportunity for connection.”
“I hope new residents will take advantage of this opportunity to learn more about the City and meet with top-level staff and elected officials,” said Mayor Michael C. Taylor. “We want the City of Sterling Heights to be accessible, transparent and helpful to as many residents as possible.”
The New Resident Forum is open to all new residents. Those that plan to attend are asked but not required to email  or call (586) 446-2473. Light refreshments will be served. Residents with questions about the forum can call Community Relations at (586) 446-2470.
