Kids and parents will learn essential skills for independence like answering calls, spotting hazards, handling severe weather, basic first aid, and fire and pool safety—taught by Sterling Heights Fire & Police Departments.

Winter Stargazing & Folklore

Chase the winter stars with us during our Winter Stargazing & Folklore program at the Nature Center on Saturday, Feb. 7 at 6:30 p.m. Enjoy guided stargazing outdoors, then head inside for stories and folklore inspired by the constellations above. A portion of the program will be outdoors, so please dress warmly.

Bundle up for Winter Animal Adventures at the Nature Center on Feb. 20 at 10 a.m.! Little explorers ages 3–5 will meet some of our animal ambassadors, discover how creatures big and small survive the cold, enjoy a short nature walk (weather permitting), and make an animal craft to take home. Mid Winter Break Adventures

Give your kids a memorable midwinter break with three days of hands-on nature fun from Feb. 17–19, 9 a.m.-noon at the Nature Center. Each day includes games, crafts, science experiments and animal encounters designed to engage curious minds. Participants will explore indoor and outdoor activities, discover how wildlife adapts to winter and take home their own creations. Perfect for children ages 8-12 looking for a fun, educational way to spend their break.

SOS Mobile Office Visit

The Secretary of State is bringing its services to the Senior Center. No more long wait times at the SOS office. Make an appointment to complete your SOS transactions including State I.D. or driver's license renewal, title transfers, disability placards and more. Appointments can be made online or in person at the Senior Center.
