There are many worthwhile types of projects that the Sterling Heights Area Community Foundation has chosen not to support. We also give priority consideration to organizations and programs in Sterling Heights. Please read carefully through the information below before proceeding.
In order to focus our contribution resources, we do not support:
- Advertising for benefit or courtesy purposes
- Capital campaigns
- Conferences, seminars, trips, tours or similar events
- Endowments of any kind, except those managed by the Sterling Heights Area Community Foundation
- Fundraising activities related to individual sponsorship (e.g., walk-a-thons)
- Individuals
- Multi-year pledges
- Operating expenses of United Way local agencies
- Organizations that do not have 501(c)(3), 170(b), or 170(c) status
- Organizations that limit membership and services based on race, religion, color, creed, sex, age or national origin
- Organizations that might in any way pose a conflict with the Sterling Heights Area Community Foundation's mission, goals, programs, products or members of its Board of Directors
- Programs/projects involving the delivery of direct health care
- Religious or sectarian programs for religious purposes
- Requests for loans or debt retirement
- Veterans, labor and political organizations or campaigns
- Projects outside of our primary mission of cultural, educational, or recreational endeavors
