Missing Animals

The Sterling Heights Animal Control regularly rescues lost or stray animals from within the city limits and they are housed at Animal Control for a stray hold. If the animal has up to date indentification, the owner will be notified. If the animal is not claimed, it will be moved to a local rescue or animal shelter.

Residents who are missing an animal may post on the City's website a description of the animal and contact information through the Report Lost Animal Form.

To receive a lost animal from the Police Station, owners must provide proof of ownership (vet records, pet license, etc.), personal identification and pay a $30 impound fee.
