Hot Works Permits
Please follow these guidelines for a Hot Works Permit, and when the work has been finished, please forward the completed Fire Watch form to FPS@sterlingheights.gov
A Hot Works/Fire Watch permit is an operational permit. Please see excerpt below from our city ordinance:
105.1.2. Types of permits. There shall be two types of permits as follows:
A. Operational permit. An operational permit allows the applicant to conduct an operation or a business for which a permit is required by Section 105.5 for either:
- A prescribed period.
- Until renewed or revoked.
B. Construction permit. A construction permit allows the applicant to install or modify systems and equipment for which a permit is required by Section 105.6. All applications for construction permits shall be submitted to the building official for review and issuance or denial. The building official shall submit the applications to the fire marshal for review and recommendations.
