The mission of the Sterling Heights Fire Department (SHFD) is to provide for the safety and welfare of our community and our members through prevention, preparation and protection.
The City of Sterling Heights has earned a Class 2 rating by the Insurance Services Office (ISO). This classification places Sterling Heights in the top 2% of all fire departments throughout the United States and top 1% in the State of Michigan. Only two other fire departments in the State of Michigan have attained this rating distinction.
