The Sterling Heights Fire Department invites you to take part in the fall 2023 Civilian Fire Academy!
Residents have the opportunity to get an inside look at the operation of the Sterling Heights Fire Department and get a taste of what it is like to be a Firefighter/Paramedic!
The program will run for four weeks on Wednesday evenings from 6 to 9 p.m. beginning September 13, 2023.
Participants will take part in:
• Vehicle Extrication
• Technical Rescue
• Fire Attack
• Fire Extinguishers
• CPR Certification
• Department Operations
• EMS Delivery
This program will have some components that will be physically demanding, yet safety of the participants will be a primary focus. Due to the hands-on nature of the program, the class size is limited and applications must be submitted for consideration.
Participants must be at least 18 years of age at the beginning of the academy and residents of the city of Sterling Heights.
