Charitable Contribution Information
The Sterling Heights Community Foundation is seeking year-end tax-deductible contributions as part of its annual giving campaign.
Contributions can come in the form of individual, married couple and corporate donations, all of which are tax-deductible within the limits of the law. For example, a married couple filing jointly can make a $400 donation to the foundation’s endowment fund and be eligible for tax credits that result in a net contribution cost of just $60.

Founded in 1991, the Sterling Heights Community Foundation works to enhance cultural, educational and recreational opportunities for Sterling Heights residents. The foundation sponsors scholarships for high school and college students, resources for the public library and senior activity center and in 2008 was a major sponsor for the KaBOOM playscape project at Delia Park.
Foundation members include local businessmen, lawyers and representatives from the Sterling Heights Regional Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
“Although the economic times are difficult for everyone, the need is also greater than ever,” said Foundation President Dr. Martin Brown. “Through tax-deductible donations, residents can help local students pay for college, provide an evening of fun for teenagers and support our parks, library and senior citizens.”
The Sterling Heights Community Foundation manages 26 permanent endowment funds, all of which are eligible for donations. Contributions can also be made to the foundation’s general endowment fund, which allows the foundation to disburse funds to worthy causes throughout the year.
