Charitable Contribution Information
The Foundation offers you the opportunity to support your community and enhance the quality of life for area residents in many ways. You may make a financial contribution to any of the 34 endowment funds the Foundation manages, create a new endowment fund that supports a special interest or honors a person important to you, include the Foundation in your will or trust, make a gift of real estate, donate a major gift through a bequest, or a charitable remainder distribution from an I.R.A., make a life insurance contribution or a charitable gift annuity. You may donate personal property, make a gift of appreciated stock, donate remaining retirement plan assets, make a gift of an interest in a closely held or family business or transfer an interest in a family limited partnership limited liability company. You may also make a contribution to the Foundation's General Endowment Fund.
The Foundation continually strives to partner with area businesses and residents to support programs that strengthen the City’s wide range of cultural, educational and recreational opportunities. Through your donation to the Sterling Heights Area Community Foundation, you can assist local area students with college scholarships, provide evenings of supervised fun for area teenagers, be a part of Sterlingfest, Memorial Day and Veterans Day celebrations, and support your local parks, nature center, library, area seniors, youth programs and more. You can leave a legacy for generations to come in perpetuity.
Your Foundation is an approved 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization, which offers potential tax benefits for you. Tax law changes make it important for you to contact your financial advisor to ensure your donation is credited properly.
Contributions can be made my individuals, married couples, and corporations. All are tax deductible within the limits of the law. For example, a married couple filing a joint tax return can make a $400 donation to the Foundation's General Endowment Fund and be eligible for tax credits that result in a net contribution cost of only $60.
Your gift to the Sterling Heights Area Community Foundation helps ensure that you, your family, neighbors and generations to come will continue to enjoy the finest cultural, educational and recreational opportunities that make Sterling Heights a great place to live, work, raise a family, and conduct business.
Please make a financial investment in your community so that we may grow our ability to provide ever increasing quality initiatives and programs that enhance the life of all Sterling Heights area residents.
