Business Resources

The city of Sterling Heights is actively supporting our community at large, including the important members of our business community. This includes the hundreds of small businesses that are the backbone of our community, providing important goods and services that keep our economy – and our residents – thriving.

We have started a program called Inside Out which allows certain businesses to fast track the permitting required to conduct services outdoors on patios, sidewalks and parking lots.

We have also prepared a comprehensive list of resources for both employers and their employees, and we will continue to do everything we can to ensure tools are made available from the state and federal government to protect businesses and their employees from any economic impact resulting from the COVID-19 public health crisis.

For more information, please feel free to contact Senior Economic Development Advisor Luke Bonner at lbonner@sterling-heights.net.

SBA Restaurant Revitalization Fund

The American Rescue Plan Act established the Restaurant Revitalization Fund (RRF) to provide funding to help restaurants and other eligible businesses keep their doors open. This program will provide restaurants with funding equal to their pandemic-related revenue loss up to $10 million per business and no more than $5 million per physical location. Recipients are not required to repay the funding as long as funds are used for eligible uses no later than March 11, 2023.

Visit the SBA website for more info.

COVID Cast

COVID Cast is designed for our local businesses to discuss programs and issues related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

How Can We Help?

Connect Macomb values your membership and wants to be able to support their members – but they need some information from you!

  • Are you a restaurant that is offering carry out and delivery services? – please share that HERE. This Friday Connect Macomb will be sharing an email to their membership with restaurants to support and share this information on social media sites.
  • As this new reality is just starting for so many of us – they want to hear what the Chamber can do for you to support your business now and once this crisis is over. Please give your thoughts HERE.
  • If you are offering services that might be helpful to those that are home bound, the elderly let Connect Macomb know so that they can share that on the website and social media channels immediately.

Let’s Keep Supporting Local!

  • Buy a gift card to use at a later date
  • Get take out/delivery from your favorite local restaurant
  • Shop Local Businesses Online
  • Stay home if you’re sick – this should go without saying!!
  • Be Patient – we are all working at reduced capacity and we might have longer waits for carry out, deliveries or out of stock items. Our fellow businesses are doing all they can to serve their community
  • Say Thank You – for many these last few days have been exhausting, uncertain and a little bit of thanks goes a long way. When you’re in a store or restaurant, remember to say thank you to the cashier, the person stocking the shelves or the person packing up your carryout.
