Hours of Operation
The 41-A District Court is open to the public Monday - Friday except federal holidays.
Lobby Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Telephone Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Closed daily during 12 - 1 p.m. lunch hour.
*If the Court is closed due to inclement weather or other emergencies, notices will be posted on this website and various outlets from the City.
Walk-in Arraignments
Walk-in Arraignments on warrants are available Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 11:00 am.
Payments
Payments may be made with CASH, CREDIT/DEBIT CARD, CHECK or MONEY ORDER at the Cashier's Counter, via mail (money order or check only), by phone at 1-833-228-5606, or online through Point and Pay. A drop-box is also available at the front entrance of the building for your convenience during non-business hours.
Fines, costs and other financial obligations imposed by the court are expected to be paid at the time of assessment.

Deputy Court Clerks are available to answer phone calls during regular business hours.
Proper attire is required - shorts and tank tops are not considered proper attire.
No weapons are allowed in the Courthouse. Video or audio recording within the Courthouse is not permitted, except in cases of prior approval by the Chief Judge.
Filings may be submitted by U.S. Mail or via fax (586-276-4074). Payment in full must accompany filings at the time of submission.
All filings are being accepted and notices of hearing are being sent via U.S. Mail and email. Filings may be submitted to the Court in person, by drop box, by U.S. Mail or via fax. The court is enforcing a 10-page limit on filings by fax and the filing fee must be paid prior to filing new cases by fax.
Notice of Court Text Reminder Program Opt-Out
The 41A District Court is utilizing a hearing reminder system that automatically sends texts or emails to defendants, litigants, attorneys and prosecutors to remind them of upcoming court appearances. Court participants who provide a phone number, either at arrest, traffic stop, or at any stage of the case, will be automatically enrolled in the reminder system but may opt-out at any time. A reminder will go out 5 days before the court date and the day before. There is no fee for this service.

Court Divisions
Civil Division
The Civil Division handles:
- Civil litigation up to $25,000
- Small claims litigation up to $6,500
- Landlord - Tenant disputes and land contract forfeitures
Criminal Division
The Criminal Division handles:
- Arraignments, setting of bail, preliminary examinations on felony cases (where punishment exceeds 1 year)
- Misdemeanors (where punishment does not exceed 1 year)

ADA Information
The 41-A District Court complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act. This grievance procedure is established to meet the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) and the ADA Amendments Act of 2008. Under the Americans with Disabilities Act (“ADA”), individuals with disabilities (as defined by the ADA) may be entitled to accommodations to participate in Court hearings or other business with the Court.
To request an accommodation, we ask that you complete a Request for Accommodations Form (SCAO form MC 70). Once completed, please return this form to the court, located at 40111 Dodge Park, Sterling Heights, MI 48313.
The ADA may be used by any person who wishes to file a complaint alleging discrimination on the basis of disability in the provision of services, activities, or programs by the 41-A District Court. The court's personnel policy governs employment-related complaints of disability discrimination. The complaint should be in writing and contain information about the alleged discrimination, such as the name, address, and phone number of the complainant and the location, date, and description of the problem, including the name of the judicial officer. Alternative means of filing complaints will be made available for persons upon request and as necessary.
The complaint should be submitted by the grievant or their designee as soon as possible but no later than 60 calendar days after the alleged violation to:
